Orik was a former mercenary in the New Camp, and one of the most important people, being Lee's right hand and advisor.

By the time Diego, Gorn, Milten, and Lester were thrown inside the Colony, Orik already had gained his status among the mercenaries, becoming Lee's advisor and right hand.

His early years he spent fighting as a gladiator in the arena of the Old Camp, his main opponent being Ulgor. Orik was probably the one responsible for Ulgor's death, killing him during a battle.

Retired as a gladiator, in the last period before the Fall of the Barrier (around when he met the hero), most of the time he spent by Lee's side.

Unlikely that he would have left Lee, and not join him further on Onar's farm, after the Fall of the Barrier, it is safe to assume that he died inside the Barrier, probably killed by Finkregh, the ice dragon, or by another monster.
