Nefarius

Nefarius was one of the Water Mages who participated in the creation of the Magic Barrier around the Valley of Mines. When the Barrier became a prison for him and the other Water Mages he remained with Saturas in the New Camp to study what went wrong with the Barrier. Together with the other Water Mages he reached the conclusion that in order to destroy the Barrier they needed a huge amount of Ore, and so they started the Free Mine. However, their plan wouldn't succeed, so the nameless hero destroyed the Barrier by banishing the Sleeper, and evil arch demon, who was responsible for the Barrier's expansion.
After the fall of the Barrier he continued to follow Saturas in the expedition behind the northern mountain-chain of Khorinis. They discovered an ancient civilization, the Jharkedians, who were worshiping Adanos. Nefarius got the task to find a way of opening the portal to the other side of the mountains, and investigate why the portal was created. The nameless hero managed to open the portal, and Nefarius went with the other Water Mages to Jharkendar, the lost city, where the hero fought and killed Raven, Beliar's general, who was planing to desecrate the ancient Temple of Adanos. Nefarius remained in Jharkendar to take care of the ancient temple.
When the orcs invaded Khorinis, Nefarius teleported to the continent, together with the other Water Mages, using the power of the Focus Stones. In the continent the Water Mages became the leader of the Nomads, and Nefarius kept following his old leader Saturas.
