Gomez

Role Old Camp leader
Guild Old Camp
Rank Ore Baron

Gomez was the leader of the Old Camp during his existence under the Barrier and the first convict that rose up in arms against the royal guardsmen that oversaw their labor in the mines of Khorinis. Although a strong leader, Gomez became paranoid about keeping his influence, hiding behind an army of guards unlike Lee.

He wielded the powerful Innos' Rage in battle.

Character

Gomez was a brave and intelligent man with a strong leadership talent, which allowed him to unite convicts and strike against the royal guards when the time came.

However, once he became the most powerful man in the colony, his mental health started deteriorating, making him impatient and paranoid, a man who did not hesitate to kill anyone he deemed even remotely dangerous or threatening to his power.

Biography

Gomez was one of the convicts sentenced to work in the magic ore mines of Khorinis. He was gifted with an exceptional leadership talent, and was able to unite the convicts in an open rebellion against the royal guards when the barrier was established. When he established his rule over the Valley, he, as the man in control, was proposed a deal by the king, who in return for magic ore would supply the Old Camp with anything they needed, from weapons through alcohol to women.

Gomez, now the self-proclaimed Ore Baron, controlled the largest and oldest of the mines, and exchanged all of its ore, bar a small amount, with the outside world. This status was maintained throughout the years, with small alterations when other camps developed (most notably the Swamp Camp, the sole supplier of swampweed and its products to Gomez).

However, one day disaster struck, as the Old Mine was flooded. Scared of losing influence and paranoid, Gomez ordered the Free Mine invasion. The Fire Mages of the castle openly protested this, to the point of forbidding Gomez from invading the mine and demanding negotiations with other camps. Suspecting treachery, Gomez ordered the slaying of the mages and a full lock down of the camp, fearing New Camp's retribution.

This plan failed, and situation quickly deteriorated in the Old Camp, to the point of near-anarchy. Gomez is believed to have been slain in the chaos, as he grown more paranoid to the point of suspecting his closest advisers of treachery as the Barrier dissipated. The perpetrator quite possibly could've been Raven.
