Dragon Hunters are a guild that was formed shortly before the fall of the Barrier. Dragon hunters specialized in close combat warfare using two handed swords and heavy crossbows, relying on strength and resilience to suceed, rather than power of magic or training like Fire Mages or paladins did. For protection, they wore armours crafted from steel, magic ore and leather made by Bennet. These armours were good, but couldn't be a match to armours made from real dragon scales.

They were formed when rumors about the presence of dragons in the Valley of Mines were proven true, a part of the mercenaries on Onar's farm equiped themselves with weapons and armor from Bennet and, led by Sylvio departed for the Valley of Mines to kill the dragons. Besides the mercenaries, several bandits, thugs and refugees from Myrtana, from all corners of Khorinis embarked for the Valley. Apart from slaying the dragons they desired trophies taken from their dead bodies and loot from their hoard as well as the status of heroes in Khorinis and gold.

They underestimated the danger, however, and a lot of them found their demise in the Valley, killed by the army of darkness. Some of the survivors camped out in a cave in a small canyon, and others remained with the paladins at the castle. With such an immense failure of their mission and the fact that they were all stranded in the Valley it is not impropable that they all perished or were enslaved.
