Circle of Fire

![]()
The Circle of Fire is a large order dedicated to serving Innos and spreading his word and teachings throughout the lands. Its members are commonly referred to as Fire Mages. Unlike their counterparts, the Water Mages, they are highly organized and bureaucratic with a highly developed and enforced hierarchy. The leader of the Circle resided in Vengard, the capital of Myrtana and advised the king in all matters related to magic and maintaing authority over other fire mages. However, the resident did not exercise his authority often, proffering to leave the decisions to high ranking mages operating in the field.
The Fire Mages are mostly thinkers and skilled spell casters, and were a rather reclusive and secretive society, relying on the Order of Innos for direct actions and protection. The greatest artifacts of the past wich contain the power of Innos, such as the gerat Eye of Innos or the Shield of Fire are also found in the church's custody, being heavily guarded and keeped secret to outsiders, at all cost.
Hierarchy
The Circle of Fire maintained a strictly enforced hierarchy. The lowest ranking members were Novices, who wore simple, knee-length robes with simple decorations and leather belts. They were tasked with all the menial tasks, ranging from sweeping floors through grape mashing (to make excellent wine) to performing errands for superiors.
After years of study and exercise or completing the Trial of Fire), wich was only taken by the most brave and skilled novices, as only Serpentes ever managed to pass it, the Novice could be promoted to a full Fire Mage and be taught in the ways of magic directly as well as receive full access to the teachings of the Order. The mage could progress further and become an Archmage through his actions and gained experience, learning more about magic and its usage. The most powerful of the Archmages was promoted to the role of resident royal advisor, who remained in Vengard to aid the King with his knowledge, experience, power and his relationship with their god, Innos.
