Black troll are the most powerful of all unmagical beings on the island of Khorinis. Its appearance may frighten even the most courageous hunter.
Unlike the ordinary trolls, the black troll's color is light black with blurs of grey. Black trolls are bigger, stronger and more frightening than trolls. Their hands are giant hammers, which can smash their opponents in just one powerful blow. Very noticeable are their heads with a mouth full of huge teeth and shining white eyes. Two large horns are situated on the top of their heads. Black trolls live alone on rocky areas with just a few trees around. They find themselves a cave in which they often protect very valuable treasures.
They are on the top of the food chain, being the ultimate predator, eating anything that is too slow to run away from their huge fists. They have no natural enemies.
Black troll's attacks are very monotonous. They use a move-and-strike technique almost always. Despite the fact that they are slow, their fist attack is powerful enough to kill a shadowbeast with just one mighty blow.
So the best way to kill a black troll is with magic, the spell Shrink monster is amazingly effective. With that magic spell you can resize black troll to a mini size and then kill it easily. But with melee weapons you should use a hit-and-run tactic, because black troll will not wait for your punches. There's no use trying to kill a black troll with ranged weapons because it's nearly invulnerable against them. Black trolls are a dream to hunters, because of their rarity and precious ownings. The hide of a black troll is a sign of a skilled hunter and a fearless killer. For melee weapons the best strategy is to came very close by the black troll. In the first moment it will try to scary you. In that moment the fighter could came very close and attack. Some people use to go back to the black troll, but is good enough and more proud to fight face to face (or leg, anyhow). If you don't let the black troll to put some distance between you, the victory will be yours, and you will be a skilled hunter.
