Beliar always relied on human worship and many followers in order to spread his influence in the world. It is believed, according to the old writings that there are four temples in the realm of Myrtana. Many though commit the same error believing that "Myrtana" was refered as the one small kingdom it is now. In truth, it takes us several centuries ago, when the first monarch, Rhobar I, conquered many lands and formed the first kingdom, which contained present day Myrtana, Nordmar, the island of Khorinis and later, the northern line of Varant as well as many other regions that were not recorded. In this vast land the four temples have been built.

Very little is known about the Western Temple of Beliar, since it's geographical location is beyond the borders of Myrtana, far into what is known as the Unknown Lands. It is stated however that the paladins of Rhobar I destroyed the temple, just like the northern one, yet nothing is known about it's fate.

The Northern Temple of Beliar was located in the wastelands of the polar tundras, far north away from Nordmar and any civilization. It is said that Orcs first found it, after it's completion by unknown builders. The conditions of the north and the thirst for war led the Orcs into Beliar's service quickly. From there, the Orcs advanced further south into Nordmar beginning the Ork Wars. Although paladins destroyed this temple as well, Orcs continued their rampage, and Beliar hid the remaining two temples to preserve at least half of his power. Even without a shrine to pray at, the orks proved to be resilient, and soon shattered the humans' hold over Nordmar and it's Magic Ore deposits.

It was recorded that the last two temples vanished after the destruction of the second, but even this some-what bizzare fact didn't last long.

According to the writings found in the Water Mages' libraries, during the reign of Rhobar II, general Lee led a successful campaign against the Hashishin. During the short time the soldiers held the northern line of the desert, they came upon the site of a great structure, going deep into the mountain. It is there that they discovered the shrine of the Southern Temple of Beliar, a big statue of gold with an inner core made of pure mithril. Since the Black Mages of Varant kept the "wrath of Beliar away from us", the temple did not irradiate much demonic energy, especially because hashishin already obeyed Beliar.

The true crown jewel was the Eastern Temple of Beliar, located near the Innos' seat of power, the capital of Myrtana. Another good reason was the fact that the island of Khorinis located in the region was the only source of magic ore apart from the conquered Nordmdar. This is why this temple is considered the strongest and fiercest of all temples. It's main complex, the Halls of Irdorath located on the Island of Irdorath represented the orks' outpost for attacking Myrtana from the east. Here, Beliar did his first step in spreading his influence over the humans too. There is also the matter of the Sleeper's Temple, an underground structure made by Orcs on Khorinis, where they summoned the demonic arch-lord, The Sleeper, so he could stop the humans from gathering ore. However, the demon's arch-lord power was so great, he never completed his materialization in this world, not even through a tunnel made of pure magic ore, or the hearts of the greatest Orc shamans. He slept 1000 years slowly gaining power and influence. Even in this state he tainted a large group of humans that formed the Brotherhood of the Sleeper. Still, the nameless hero broke the magic that bound the Sleeper to this world returning him back to his realm before he could truly awaken, no one knows what would this beast be capable of, if the materialization process had not been interrupted.
