Ancient ruined monastery

Centuries before the Barrier was created, on the far northeast of the Valley of Mines, some monks build themselves a monastery. Its old ruins can now still be seen, though they can hardly be reached due to very rough terrain and many wild beasts that have made themselves at home there.

The monks living in the monastery most likely prayed to Adanos, as transformation scrolls, specific to Adanos' magic, can be found inside the monastery.

In fact, they were the one that invented the transformation scrolls that are now used all over the world. They were seeking solitude, that is why the monastery is build in the most remote part of the valley, on a very high cliff, enabling entrance only form one side.

Architecture

The monastery consisted of two main, very high buildings with many floors and a very high tower at the very edge of the cliff. Monks also knew something about warfare, because their monastery was heavily fortified on the side with entrance. Also near the edge of the cliff today can be seen remains of the high but thin walls with very big widows which resembles on once great and important religious building. There most probably monks worshiped Adanos. Between the main buildings there is a deep cave, that was used as a large storehouse for food, drink potions and also other valuables.
